Coffee or tea that is unsweetened or with a small amount of real sugar (no artificial sweeteners – we’ll get to why in a minute) is a good compliment to a healthy breakfast. Opt for fresh fruit with your meal as opposed to fruit juice. The juice is loaded with simple carbohydrates. Save the carbs for lunch or dinner and consume them in moderation.
