Top Theme Park Attractions: The 12 Oldest Rollercoasters In America

Cyclone – 1927
Luna Park at Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York

We’ve definitely saved the best for last. The Cyclone is one of the most famous coasters in America and is also a registered National Historical Landmark. It climbs 85 feet with a steep 59° drop.

This coaster also reaches an impressive 60 MPH (96 KPH) which was a lot of speed for the time it was built. In an effort to maintain its original design, the cars don’t have seat dividers, leaving ride partners to repeatedly bang into each-other as they roll and coast.
