This country is fantastic during the summer months, and that’s when you’ll see most of the people flocking here, but not you. You already know that off-season travel can be more rewarding and if you’re a surfer, that proves to be even more true here.

Yeah, you’re going to need a wetsuit for these waters, but when you have the waves to yourself and the swells are spectacular, you’ll be sporting the biggest grin. Porto and Costa Verde are for the daredevils out there, but for a milder surf, head to the spots between Lagos and Sagres.
