Medical Transcriptionist
Medical transcription isn’t easy work – you have to contend with doctors with thick accents who like to eat while they talk, snap their gum in your ear and even interrupt their dictation talking to other people in the room. In the plus column, it can sometimes be more entertaining than your favorite medical TV show and the pay is decent – about $16 per hour on average. There is training involved with this kind of work – you can’t just decide to do medical transcription – but you also don’t need an advanced degree. Good transcriptionists are hard to find so if you can prove your worth you can actually make even more.
